Riflettori puntati sull’appuntamento più atteso del giornalismo in Sardegna, che sarà presentato in conferenza stampa tra pochi giorni, dove verranno svelati i nomi del Premio Giornalistico della Sardegna-Città di Castelsardo, evento di punta del Genera Festival. Il Genera Festival affonda le sue radici nelle storiche edizioni del premio negli anni Ottanta, ma si rinnova tutti gli anni con nuovi premi come quelli per il turistico, la scienza, i fumetti e la fotografia.
Il “Genera Festival” è un festival di giornalismo per ragazzi che trasmette messaggi importanti in un linguaggio semplice e diretto e che racconta con gli occhi dei più giovani la vita, la quotidianità, la bellezza del mondo con un filtro naturale: la spontaneità. Gli studenti coinvolti sono protagonisti con il “Genera Press”, un laboratorio di giornalismo con elaborati e reportage realizzati durante l’anno con le scuole del territorio che in questa occasione potranno arricchire la loro formazione condividendo momenti e spazi insieme ai giornalisti più affermati.
Queste le date in programma: 21, 22, 23 Settembre. Si tratta di un evento unico nel panorama isolano per discutere, come già avevamo fatto lo scorso anno, sull’ attualità e la politica a partire quest’anno dai temi cruciali del turismo e dei trasporti in una città, Castelsardo, dalla chiara connotazione internazionale per essere stata scelta come location del film Disney “La sirenetta”.
Il Genera Festival si svolgerà interamente presso la Sala XI del Castello dei Doria, ed inizia giovedì 21 con una tavola rotonda sul turismo: “Analisi delle performance della stagione turistica 2023” dove si discuterà sull’andamento di una stagione in chiaro scuro e sui risultati conseguiti dalle diverse strutture ricettive nella stagione balneare sarda e alla quale parteciperanno esponenti del mondo politico e imprenditoriale. Al termine della quale si assegneranno i premi per il “Travel Journalism” ed il “Giornalismo enogastronomico”.
Altra novità, quest’anno si assegnerà il premio “Alfiere della cucina sarda” ad un ristoratore che ha contribuito a conservare le antiche ricette e a portare la tradizione gastronomica sarda nel mondo. Venerdì 22, sempre nella stessa location, spazio ai giovani, i veri protagonisti del Festival: entreremo nel vivo dei loro progetti con il concetto di “#generatività” curato dai partecipanti al progetto “Genera Press” (Liceo Ginnasio Canopoleno, Liceo Statale “Margherita di Castelvì”, Liceo Scientifico e linguistico di Castelsardo). Verranno consegnati il Premio “La Nuova Sardegna” ai giornalisti in erba, il Premio “Genera” ai finalisti del progetto “Genera Press 2023”, e il Premio “Castellanesi nel mondo”.
La terza serata, quella del 23 settembre è tutta dedicata alle grandi penne con la cerimonia di assegnazione del Premio “Città di Castelsardo”, il premio giornalismo sportivo “Pino Pinna”, il premio Cronaca “Giovanni Canu”, il premio giornalismo d’inchiesta “Piero Mannironi”, il premio alla carriera, il premio Fotografia “Daniela Zedda”, il premio “Le storie – “Peppino Fiori”, il Premio Giornalismo Scientifico, il Premio Giornalismo e fumetti e il premio “Manlio Brigaglia”.
Sui nomi dei premiati, nessuno spoiler per il momento; saranno svelati in conferenza stampa dai giurati.
L’edizione del Festival Genera 2023, patrocinata dalla Regione Sardegna, gode del sostegno di importanti partner quali il Comune di Castelsardo, la Camera di Commercio di Sassari che con “Salude & Trigu” ha promosso il Festival e la Fondazione di Sardegna, affiancati come di consueto dal Consorzio “Golfo dell'Asinara” e dalla Proloco di Castelsardo. Ma il Festival è in crescita e senza l’accompagnamento di partner essenziali quali Enel, Grimaldi Sardegna, Sella e Mosca e San Giuliano l’evento non si sarebbe potuto svolgere.

The spotlight will be on the most eagerly awaited appointment of journalism in Sardinia, which will be presented at a press conference in a few days’ time, where the names of the Sardinian Journalist Award-City of Castelsardo, the Genera Festival’s flagship event, will be revealed. The Genera Festival has its roots in the historic editions of the prize in the 1980s, but is renewed every year with new prizes such as those for tourism, science, comics and photography.
The “Genera Festival” is a festival of journalism for young people that conveys important messages in a simple and direct language and that tells through the eyes of the youngest students about life, everyday life, and the beauty of the world with a natural filter: spontaneity. The students involved are the protagonists with the “Genera Press”, a journalism workshop with works and reportages realised during the year with schools in the area that on this occasion will be able to enrich their training by sharing moments and spaces together with more established journalists.
These are the scheduled dates: 21, 22, 23 September. This is a unique event on the island to discuss, as we did last year, current affairs and politics, starting this year with the crucial issues of tourism and transport in a town, Castelsardo, with a clear international connotation for having been chosen as the location for the Disney film ‘The Little Mermaid’.
The Genera Festival will take place entirely in Room XI of the Doria Castle, and will begin on Thursday 21 with a round table on tourism: ‘Analysis of the performance of the 2023 tourist season’, where the trend of a season in the dark and the results achieved by the various accommodation facilities in the Sardinian bathing season will be discussed, and in which politicians and entrepreneurs will participate. At the end of which the prizes for ‘Travel Journalism’ and ‘Food and Wine Journalism’ will be awarded.
Another novelty, this year the ‘Alfiere della cucina sarda’ (standard bearer of Sardinian cuisine) prize will be awarded to a restaurateur who has contributed to preserving ancient recipes and bringing the Sardinian gastronomic tradition to the world. On Friday 22, in the same location, space will be given to the young people, the real protagonists of the Festival: we will get to the heart of their projects with the concept of “#generativity” curated by the participants in the “Genera Press” project (Liceo Ginnasio Canopoleno, Liceo Statale “Margherita di Castelvì”, Liceo Scientifico e linguistico di Castelsardo). The “La Nuova Sardegna” Prize will be awarded to budding journalists, the “Genera” Prize to the finalists of the “Genera Press 2023” project, and the “Castellanesi nel mondo” Prize.
The third evening, on 23 September, is all about the great pens with the awarding ceremony of the ‘Città di Castelsardo’ Prize, the ‘Pino Pinna’ Sports Journalism Prize, the ‘Giovanni Canu’ Chronicle Prize, the ‘Piero Mannironi’ Investigative Journalism Prize, the ‘Piero Mannironi’ Lifetime Achievement Prize, the ‘Daniela Zedda’ Photography Prize, the ‘Le storie – “Peppino Fiori”‘ Prize, the ‘Scientific Journalism Prize’, the ‘Journalism and Comics’ Prize’, and the ‘Manlio Brigaglia’ Prize.
On the names of the award winners, no spoilers for the moment; they will be revealed at a press conference by the jurors.
This edition of the Genera 2023 Festival, sponsored by the Region of Sardinia, enjoys the support of important partners such as the Municipality of Castelsardo, the Chamber of Commerce of Sassari, which with ‘Salude & Trigu’ has promoted the Festival, and the Fondazione di Sardegna, flanked as usual by the ‘Golfo dell'Asinara’ Consortium and the Proloco of Castelsardo. But the Festival is growing and without the support of essential partners such as Enel, Grimaldi Sardegna, Sella e Mosca and San Giuliano, the event would not have taken place.
