ANTONIO PADELLARO CHIUDE GLI APPUNTAMENTI LETTERARI DEL GENERA FESTIVAL
Genera Festival chiude gli appuntamenti letterari con un altro grande giornalista e scrittore Antonio Padellaro, che insieme al direttore artistico del Festival Giampaolo Cassitta e all’avvocato Elias Vacca, darà al pubblico qualche anticipazione del suo libro “Solo la verità, lo giuro”- Giornalisti Artisti Pagliacci”. E’ un libro schietto, che non fa sconti a nessuno, tanto meno a chi scrive, un diario intimo fatto di confessioni, riflessioni e rivelazioni, spesso dirompenti e amarissime. Sarà una serata condita di verità a volte scomode, ma lo stesso Padellaro nel libro lo spiega che il giornalismo è cambiato e che non ci sono più i giornalisti di una volta. Nemmeno i lettori di una volta. Lo racconta perché lui, che è nato, giornalisticamente parlando con i grandi direttori e giornalisti, da Enzo Biagi a Giampaolo pansa fino a Indro Montanelli. Autori a cui noi dobbiamo tantissimo, lo dice spesso Padellaro nelle sue interviste: il giornalismo di redazione ha un passato glorioso che non possiamo dimenticare; oggi invece assistiamo ad un ruolo dei giornalisti spesso presenti nel talk show che già sappiamo quello che diranno.
Antonio Padellaro nel 1968 è diventato giornalista professionista all’ANSA. Ha lavorato al Corriere della Sera dal 1971 al 1990 come redattore, inviato e responsabile della redazione romana. Nel 1990 è passato all’Espresso come vicedirettore. Nel 2001 ha partecipato alla rifondazione dell’Unità che ha diretto dal 2005 al 2008. Dal 2009 al 2015 è stato il primo direttore de Il Fatto Quotidiano, che ha contribuito a fondare e di cui, attualmente, è editorialista.
«Sì, mi sono divertito – spiega Padellaro- ma la festa è finita da tempo. Il pianeta cartaceo si sta rapidamente sgonfiando sotto i colpi implacabili della rete e del disinteresse. Ancora qualche anno e le vecchie redazioni non esisteranno più come sistema pensante. E l’idea del giornale come idea del mondo rimarrà in una forma estremamente elitaria e con numeri sempre più piccoli. Mi sento come il sopravvissuto di un pianeta che progressivamente scompare”. Antonio Padellaro ci racconterà i meccanismi che governano la notizia e i retroscena che spesso l’accompagnano. Più di cinquant’anni di giornalismo, di scoop e ricordi autobiografici, di ritratti di personaggi potenti o eccentrici che si sono succeduti, di “maestri” e amici di sempre.

Authors to whom we owe so much, Padellaro often says in his interviews: editorial journalism has a glorious past that we cannot forget; today, however, we witness a role of journalists often present in talk shows that we already know what they will say.
Antonio Padellaro became a professional journalist at ANSA in 1968. He worked at Corriere della Sera from 1971 to 1990 as an editor, correspondent and head of the Rome editorial team. In 1990 he moved to Espresso as deputy director. In 2001 he participated in the refoundation of Unità, which he directed from 2005 to 2008. From 2009 to 2015 he was the first director of Il Fatto Quotidiano, which he helped found and of which he is currently an editorialist.
«Yes, I had fun – explains Padellaro – but the party has been over for a long time. The paper planet is rapidly deflating under the relentless blows of the internet and disinterest. In a few more years, the old editorial offices will no longer exist as a thinking system. And the idea of the newspaper as an idea of the world will remain in an extremely elitist form and with ever smaller numbers. I feel like the survivor of a planet that is gradually disappearing”. Antonio Padellaro will tell us about the mechanisms that govern the news and the behind-the-scenes stories that often accompany it. More than fifty years of journalism, scoops and autobiographical memories, portraits of powerful or eccentric characters who have succeeded one another, of “masters” and lifelong friends.
