ENTRA NEL VIVO L’EDIZIONE 2024 DEL GENERA FESTIVAL, IL FESTIVAL DEL GIORNALISMO PER RAGAZZI CHE METTE IN LUCE LA GENERATIVITà. I TEMI DI QUEST’ANNO: GENERARE IL FUTURO E IL FACCIA A FACCIA CON L’INTELLIGENZA ARTIFICIALE. A LUGLIO IN PROGRAMMA 9 APPUNTAMENTI CON OSPITI D’ECCEZIONE.
Genera Festival, giunto alla sua quarta edizione è un festival di giornalismo e comunicazione per ragazzi, voluto fortemente dall’Associazione Genera. Un Festival-laboratorio, che ha voluto dare spazio alle nuove generazioni e che ha lavorato con loro accendendo i riflettori sui sogni e i progetti. Protagonisti in tutte le edizioni i giovani studenti della terza e quarta superiore degli istituti delle scuole della Sardegna. Il significato del Festival ruota intorno al concetto di Generatività: un modo di ribaltare in positivo l’esigenza vitale che i ragazzi hanno dentro di loro, esprimere la propria creatività e la propria visione, leve che li porteranno nella vita a ricercare esperienze e scoprire sé stessi, storie e persone nuove.
Anche quest’anno il Festival è partito nelle scuole con i laboratori di giornalismo rivolti agli studenti del Canopoleno e del Margherita di Castelvì di Sassari e dell’istituto Paglietti di Porto Torres e Castelsardo. I ragazzi hanno avuto modo di confrontarsi con i tutor Alice Sassu, Giampaolo Cassitta e Daniela Piras e imparato a utilizzare le applicazioni che riguardano l’intelligenza artificiale. Nel corso delle serate conclusive del festival, che si terranno a settembre, ci sarà una giornata interamente dedicata all’intelligenza artificiale: saranno gli studenti ad animare completamente la serata facendosi aiutare proprio dall’intelligenza artificiale.
Quest’anno, in particolare negli appuntamenti di luglio che inizieranno sabato 13, sarà il punto di partenza di un percorso letterario caratterizzato da presentazioni di libri, letture, spazi musicali, nella cornice di tre città che hanno in comune la magia del tramonto sul mare: Alghero, Castelsardo, Stintino. “Genera Festival – spiega il direttore artistico Giampaolo Cassitta – è un evento di giornalismo per ragazzi che mira a ribaltare in positivo l’esigenza vitale dei giovani di esprimere la propria creatività e visione. È con loro che il futuro assumerà tinte più rosee se li aiutiamo a non circoscrivere la propria creatività ma a liberarla e a trasformarla in qualcosa di “generativo”.
Si parte il 13 luglio ad Alghero con Graziella Monni. La Monni, nuorese, è stata per anni professoressa nei licei ed è attualmente dirigente scolastica e presenterà il suo nuovo libro “Il medico di Caller” (Solferino), ci accompagnerà a scoprire il nostro futuro partendo da un passato di un piccolo paese immaginario della Sardegna. La presentazione si terrà al ristorante Movida, Bastioni Magellano n 16, alle 19 30. L’autrice dialoga con Elias Vacca.
Con il linguaggio giovanile, esplicito, politicamente scorretto ma genuino, quello della generazione zeta e alfa avremo modo di ascoltare Gian Maria Volpato, cantautore giovanissimo, giunto secondo all’edizione di Xfactor del 2022, vincitore di Sanremo Giovani 2023 e con diverse hit molto amate dai ragazzi. Gianmaria ha scritto un libro “Stagno”, Mondadori editore dove racconta la storia davvero originale di un ragazzo di 17 anni. Con lui l’appuntamento è per il 16 luglio ad Alghero e il 17 ad Ittiri.
Andrea Rustichelli, giornalista di Rai 3, ci accompagnerà il 19 a Stintino e il 20 luglio ad Alghero, in un racconto reportage all’interno di un mondo separato, nascosto: quello degli ammalati di cancro. Lui, che ha affrontato la malattia, ci trasporta all’interno di quei reparti ospedalieri dove si rischia di smarrirsi nel silenzio e nell’impotenza. Senza Biglietto. Viaggio nella carrozza 048, Merlin editore, è un libro che riesce a generare resilienza e aiuta ad affrontare il futuro.
C’è stato un momento in cui il futuro pareva torbido, inarrivabile. Lo ha vissuto Patrick Zaki quando il 7 febbraio del 2020 ritorna a casa sua, da Bologna, dove studia. Sembra solo una pausa ma le cose non vanno come previsto. Patrick conosce il carcere e per 20 mesi non riesce a comprendere cosa sia successo. Il libro Sogni e illusioni di libertà (La nave di Teseo) racconta cosa è successo davvero quei giorni: interrogatori, isolamento, torture. Con la sua testimonianza Patrick Zaki è stato in grado di generare speranza e futuro. Avremo modo di dialogare con l’autore ad Alghero il 25 luglio, in collaborazione con l’Associazione Studenti di scienze politiche.
Le indagini, l’intuito, capire il passato è nelle corde di Antonio Fusco, funzionario della Polizia di Stato e criminologo forense. Il suo ultimo libro “La scomparsa di Elisa Ohlsen, (Rizzoli) parte dal passato: da un cadavere mummificato che può appartenere ad una donna scomparsa sette anni prima. Come si arriverà alla soluzione di un caso che potrebbe essere l’ennesimo femminicidio? Un argomento molto sentito dalla giovane generazione, molto dibattuto e che si scontra con pregiudizi e modi di vivere di un passato che dovrebbe essere modificato. Fusco sarà ad Alghero il 26 luglio e il 27 a Stintino.
Antonio Padellaro chiuderà gli appuntamenti di luglio il 28 ad Alghero con “Solo la verità, lo giuro” un lungo racconto che percorre più di cinquant’anni di giornalismo, di scoop e ricordi autobiografici, di ritratti di personaggi potenti o eccentrici che si sono succeduti, di “maestri” e amici di sempre.

THE 2024 EDITION OF THE GENERA FESTIVAL, THE JOURNAL FESTIVAL FOR YOUNG PEOPLE THAT SHOWCASES GENERATIVITY, IS ENTERING INTO LIFE. THIS YEAR’S THEMES: GENERATING THE FUTURE AND FACE-TO-FACE WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. 9 EVENTS WITH SPECIAL GUESTS SCHEDULED IN JULY.
Genera Festival, now in its fourth edition, is a festival of journalism and communication for children, strongly desired by the Genera Association. A Festival-laboratory, which wanted to give space to new generations and worked with them by turning the spotlight on dreams and projects. Protagonists in all editions were the young students of the third and fourth high schools of Sardinia’s schools. The meaning of the Festival revolves around the concept of Generativity: a way of positively reversing the vital need that young people have within them, expressing their creativity and vision, levers that will lead them in life to seek experiences and discover themselves, stories and new people.
This year’s Festival also started in schools with journalism workshops aimed at students at Canopoleno and Margherita di Castelvì in Sassari and Paglietti Institute in Porto Torres and Castelsardo. The students had the opportunity to engage with tutors Alice Sassu, Giampaolo Cassitta and Daniela Piras and learned how to use applications involving artificial intelligence.
During the final evenings of the festival, to be held in September, there will be a day entirely dedicated to artificial intelligence: it will be the students who will completely animate the evening by getting help from artificial intelligence itself.
This year, particularly in the July events starting on Saturday 13, it will be the starting point of a literary journey characterized by book presentations, readings, musical spaces, in the setting of three cities that have in common the magic of the sunset over the sea: Alghero, Castelsardo, Stintino. “Genera Festival,” explains artistic director Giampaolo Cassitta, “is a youth journalism event that aims to turn the vital need of young people to express their creativity and vision into a positive one. It is with them that the future will take on brighter hues if we help them not to circumscribe their creativity but to free it and turn it into something “generative.”
It starts on July 13 in Alghero with Graziella Monni. Monni, a native of Nuoro, has been a teacher in high schools for years and is currently a school principal, and she will present her new book “Il medico di Caller” (Solferino).She will accompany us to discover our future starting from a past in an imaginary small town in Sardinia. The presentation will be held at Movida Restaurant, Bastioni Magellano n 16, at 7:30 p.m. The author will dialogue with Elias Vacca.
With the youthful, explicit, politically incorrect but genuine language, that of the zeta and alpha generation we will have the opportunity to listen to Gian Maria Volpato, a very young singer-songwriter who came second in the 2022 edition of Xfactor, winner of Sanremo Giovani 2023 and with several hits that are very popular with young people. Gianmaria has written a book “Stagno,” Mondadori publisher where he tells the truly original story of a 17-year-old boy. With him the appointment is for July 16 in Ittiri and July 17 in Alghero.

Journey in Carriage 048, Merlin publisher, is a book that succeeds in generating resilience and helps one face the future.
There was a time when the future seemed murky, unreachable. Patrick Zaki experienced it when on Feb. 7, 2020, he returns to his home from Bologna, where he is studying. It seems only a break but things do not go as planned. Patrick knows prison and for 20 months he cannot understand what happened. The book Dreams and Illusions of Freedom (Theseus’ Ship) tells what really happened those days: interrogations, solitary confinement, torture. Through his testimony, Patrick Zaki was able to generate hope and a future. We will have a chance to talk with the author in Alghero on July 25, in collaboration with the Political Science Students Association.
Investigation, intuition, understanding the past is in the ropes for Antonio Fusco, a State Police officer and forensic criminologist. His latest book, The Disappearance of Elisa Ohlsen, (Rizzoli) starts in the past: from a mummified corpse that may belong to a woman who disappeared seven years earlier. How will it lead to the solution of a case that may be yet another feminicide? It is a topic that is very much felt by the young generation, much debated and that clashes with prejudices and ways of living from a past that should be changed. Fusco will be in Alghero on July 26 and on July 27 in Stintino.
Antonio Padellaro will close the July appointments on July 28 in Alghero with “Only the truth, I swear,” a long tale that covers more than 50 years of journalism, scoops and autobiographical memories, portraits of powerful or eccentric characters who have succeeded one another, “masters” and lifelong friends.
